Mood Movies

trainspotting Are you feeling good? Need someone to take you back to earth? Get a decent dose of "Trainspotting". You might as well watch "Sin City", currently in cinemas all over europe. And if you don't know exactly what to do, get a movie like "Amelie" or my latest addition "The City of Lost Children" which is so strange you are still trying to figure out what it wanted to tell you afterward. Well, and after a day in some government building, watch "Brazil".

jinroh Strangely there are more movies made in Europe that have such an impact on me. Either they are so real in what they picture or have such a massive reality distortion field to trigger joy or sadness. I am sure american made movies exist that must be similar, but while I was reflecting they are either too plain or simply depict only one or few aspects strongly. Don't get me wrong, I really enjoyed "Sin City" and I am a big fan of "Movies/Special/From Dusk Till Dawn". But in general I like that strange european cinema.

casshern Last but not least I need to mention the japanese cinema as well. No wonder Hollywood currently copies a lot of the japanese horror movies. The japanese bend reality a little different which results in classics like "Jin-Rô" and "Movies/Anime/Ghost in the Shell" or, the more modern "CASSHERN". The mood issue here is somewhat different, as these movies usually leave me in some state of confusion forcing me to watch them a few times more, just to confirm that confusion.
