I've running an daily backup in Linux with Bacula. I use the HDD-Dock for Project-Backups/Archiving, Backup-Snapshoots and Data-Transfers. Eventually - i've not tested - you can use ist with an fast 3,5" HDD on your Notebook's eSATA-Interface. Notebook 2,5" HDD's are slow compared to 3,5" Desktop-HDD's.
