LG RZ-32LZ50 LCD-TV

RZ-32LZ50 When I saw a Thomson SCENIUM 30" TV for about 1500€ last week the quest had started. However, my first test using the DVI interface had disastrous results. Colorful shadows around windows and generally the TV did not allow me to set its native resolution of 1280x768. Most of the LCD-TVs I tried after that either allowed only strange resolulions or allowed 1280x768 but zoomed the picture to the full resultion of the LCD panel which is usually 1366x768. Zooming produces a blurred and unusable picture not suitable for a computer screen. The brands where it did not work include Toshiba, Thomson and Sharp. From what I read on the web Samsungs DVI interface only allows HDCP encrypted signals.

The only LCD-TV where it worked out of the box was the >>LG RZ-32LZ50. It allowed me to set 1360x768 and simply left out three pixels right and left. It has no HD ready tag but that does not worry me yet. The DVD player image is great and I have tried >>World of Warcraft and must say its a mind-blowing experience at 32".
